I did it again...
I'm in a very intense graduate program, and I'm very intensely outnumbered by females. The ratio is like 13 women to every 1 man. I know I know you feel bad for me right. Well here's what I did this time.
I've been in the program for 3 years now so I hold a lot of high positions in the program and I'm in a lot of leadership roles. I get a lot of questions through email. Most of them happen to be from women because that's what makes up the majority of my program.
Anyway, this particular time I get an email that I couldn't fully answer. So I told the girl that I couldn't help her but I will email her if I ever find out the answer to her question and I left it at that. This was yesterday. So today, I get an email back with the subject line "coffee break?"
She wanted to get together with me for coffee because she had "soooooooooo many questions to ask me" (quoted from her).
And so my little droogies, what do you think your boy Rico told her?
I told her that would be just lovely (I didn't use those words)
I told her that time is a factor (it really is I'm a busy busy bee) but if we could find time to meet up I would and answer her questions. I also told her that if we couldn't meet up that she can always email me.... and call me to ask questions and I left my number. That was mistake number 1...
Mistake number 2..... My curiosity got the best of me and I used her name and the wonderful world of myspace to see what this girl looked like. Unfortunately she was cute.
I mean she wasn't drop dead gorgeous, but cute enough to possibly get me in trouble. Hopefully she'll just respond through email again and I wont have deal with any situation that I would need to use my will power.
Then again, as a buddy in my office put it... If she looks so-so on myspace, that's probably her best pic, so in person she might not be as tempting. Who knows.
I just thought I'd share this most recent blunder.
Ok back to making believe I'm working.
